Remembering William Biggart, the Photojournalist Who Ran Toward Danger on 9/11

On September 11, 2001, as thousands fled Lower Manhattan, photojournalist William (Bill) Biggart walked toward the towers with his cameras. Bill’s final photograph, recovered from the rubble, was timestamped the exact second the North Tower fell.

Today we remember the thousands of lives lost 25 years ago, and we honor Bill Biggart who gave his life documenting the events of a day that forever changed America. His images remain part of the enduring visual record of a tragedy the nation will never forget.
